ALWAYS LIVE heralds its 2024 return, with Anyma, Roísín Murphy (IRE), The Offspring (USA), Tina Arena, Missy Higgins and St. Vincent (USA) leading first taste of sprawling statewide program, with Victoria’s grassroots & regional venues taking centre stage.
Marking its third year, ALWAYS LIVE announces its 2024 return with an epic 17-day statewide celebration of contemporary live music, set to take over Victoria from November 22 to December 8. From Gippsland to Geelong, Ballarat to Bendigo, this year’s program includes a huge array of free and low-cost events and puts grassroots and regional venues centre stage, hosting everything from one-off shows and underplays to podcasts, conversations, and workshops.
ALWAYS LIVE’s curated program of unique and exclusive music moments, supported by the State Government through Visit Victoria, continues to champion the state’s live music ecosystem, further cementing Victoria’s reputation as the live music capital of Australia. This first announcement unveils a staggering lineup; showcasing homegrown talent, the finest acts from around the country, and major international performances featuring over 289 artists, including 208 from Victoria in more than 65 events across the State, with 35% of the program through regional Victoria.

Anyma presents Genesys — Melbourne / Naarm: In a Victorian exclusive, ALWAYS LIVE, in partnership with UNTITLED GROUP, brings the genre-defining Anyma to Australasian shores for the first time ever for the epic live production, Anyma presents Genesys — Melbourne / Naarm. This follows his critically acclaimed debut albums “Genesys” (2023) and “Genesys II” (2024) and historic six-show sold-out residency at Sphere, Las Vegas.
US Punk Legends The Offspring: The Offspring will perform an exclusive, one-night-only show at The Forum Theatre in Melbourne (!). This is an ANZ exclusive offering fans a unique chance to see the band, famous for their raucous stages show up close.

Jack White
Jack White at The Corner Hotel: This is pretty amazing – a rare, intimate performance by the legendary White Stripes frontman at the very venue where he wrote the iconic guitar riff for “Seven Nation Army” back in 2002. That song would go on to become the lead single of seminal album “Elephant” and catapult The White Stripes to global rock superstardom. He’ll also perform in Ballarat at the historic Civic Hall.
St. Vincent Australia
St. Vincent’s Exclusive Shows: The acclaimed US artist will perform three shows in Victoria, at the Palais Theatre in St. Kilda and Her Majesty’s Theatre in Ballarat, before taking the stage hight above the Melbourne skyline for the return of ALWAYS LIVE’s coveted Intimate Audience series at The Aviary, Crown paring an exclusive performance from an iconic artist with a live Q&A and a curated dining experience. ALWAYS LIVE AT Series: Jack White’s two shows lead a new initiative that shines a spotlight on Victoria’s iconic live music venues, featuring intimate and exclusive performances. The series will include celebrated artists like Sarah Blasko in Castlemaine and Northcote, and Canadian singer-songwriter Andy Shauf, UK alt rockers Bôa and father-son First Nations rap duo across INKABEE x FLEWNT across multiple venues around the state.
Tina Arena’s 30th Anniversary Concert: Celebrating the 30th anniversary of her iconic album “Don’t Ask” with a special performance at Mornington Racecourse, featuring US star Richard Marx, Daryl Braithwaite, and other Australian music legends.
Missy Higgins at Sidney Myer Music Bowl: A very special performance by the beloved Victorian icon, capping off her sold-out tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of her album “The Sound of White,” with special guests Dan Sultan and Mia Wray.
BLAKTIVISM: This powerful event returns to Hamer Hall featuring an all-star lineup of First Nations artists, headlined by Baker Boy, celebrating Indigenous voices and stories through music.
Roísín Murphy at PICA: The Irish pop-disco queen will headline a monumental LGBTQIA+ friendly party, TRAMP, in collaboration with Summer Camp at PICA. The lineup also includes Rico Nasty (USA), Bimini (UK DJ), Jaguar (UK), The Big Wett Absolute (UK) XXXperience and loads more.
Chet Faker’s 10-Year Anniversary Show: A special performance at the Royal Botanic Gardens, marking a decade since the release of his ARIA-winning album “Built on Glass.”
Luliepalooza at Lulie Street Tavern: A celebration of emerging and established local talent with performances by Starcrawler (USA), Cash Savage & The Last Drinks, and many more, set across two stages with additional attractions like live skate demos and local food vendors.
Garage Band: ALWAYS LIVE’s flagship youth music project returns, featuring over 20 bands and 100+ young musicians performing live at Federation Square and Bunjil Place.
