The Bob Moog Foundation has released a custom 50-preset soundbank for the Moog One polyphonic synthesiser, created by Scottish sound designer Scott McAuley, with all proceeds supporting the Foundation's education, archive preservation and Moogseum operations.

Scott McAuley has teamed up with the Bob Moog Foundation to release One – a custom 50-preset soundbank built exclusively for the Moog One polyphonic synthesiser. Available now via the Bob Moog Foundation’s online store, the pack covers a wide sonic palette, and every dollar goes directly to the Foundation’s work in education, archive preservation and the operations of the Moogseum in downtown Asheville, North Carolina.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

McAuley brings more than 30 years of experience in sound design to the project. Based in Scotland, he runs synthsounds.co.uk and has built patches for over 30 hardware synthesisers, with credits spanning music, film and games – including Star Citizen, the sprawling first-person space sim from Cloud Imperium Games. The Moog One is clearly familiar territory.

The soundbank draws from over 100 individual sounds, shaped into 50 presets covering bass, bell, funk, keys, leads, organ, pads, performance, poly, sequence, strings, sweeps and more. That range reflects both the depth of the Moog One’s architecture and McAuley’s approach to wringing the most from it.

“It has been my absolute pleasure to create this bank for such a worthy cause,” McAuley said. “I really hope this exclusive bank helps in some way to bring some extra funding to BMF in the best way I know how.”

Introduced in 2018 as Moog’s first polyphonic analogue synthesiser in more than three decades, the Moog One remains one of the most capable instruments the company has ever built. Available in 8-voice and 16-voice configurations, it offers three analogue VCOs per voice, two independent analogue filters, four LFOs, three envelopes and onboard effects including a suite of Eventide reverbs. It’s a deep instrument, and a soundbank built by someone who clearly understands it is worth having.

Bob Moog Foundation Executive Director Michelle Moog-Koussa welcomed the collaboration: “We are deeply grateful to Scott McAuley for creating this pack to benefit our important work, and to help expand the sonic possibilities for Moog One users around the world.”

The One soundbank is available now from the Bob Moog Foundation’s online store. A full walkthrough of all 50 presets can be found here.
