A six-month accelerator is here to change the game for unsigned talent, giving artists direct access to mentors, training, and release support.

UNIFIED Music Group has unveiled Ground Floor, a new initiative powered by Community Music, designed to help fully independent Australian artists take the leap from bedroom recordings to professional careers.

Announced today at BIGSOUND 2025 in Brisbane, the program is part of Community Music’s $10M pledge to nurture long-term, sustainable pathways for local talent.

Six months of tailored support

Ground Floor is structured around a six-month timeline, but unlike most programs, it adapts to each artist’s own release schedule. It’s open to Australians aged 16 and over who are fully independent, unsigned, and actively preparing to release new music within the next year. Alongside practical resources, artists receive coordinated DSP pitching and marketing support via Community Music and The Annex.

Guidance from industry heavyweights

The mentorship component brings together some of the most experienced minds in the local and international industry. Senior leaders from UNIFIED Artist Management, The Annex, Lonely Lands Agency, Bush Music Fund, and more will help artists sharpen their strategies across vision, branding, and career planning. Jaddan Comerford, CEO of UNIFIED, frames it simply: “The aim is stable careers, not one-off moments.”

Opportunities beyond the studio

Ground Floor goes further than digital support, offering real-world chances to put new skills into practice. Artists will benefit from workshops in touring, media training, content strategy, sync licensing, legal and finance, plus the all-important live performance slot at a UNIFIED or Community Live event. It’s a program built to cover every corner of an artist’s career, from first demos to the stage.

Applications are open year-round, with selections announced throughout the year to ensure each artist gets focused, tailored support.
