The new lineup pairs a workout-focused model with an upgraded flagship built for all-day listening.
Bose has unveiled two new additions to its open-ear audio range: the Bose Sport Open Earbuds and the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen). The pair expands the company’s open-ear lineup with devices aimed at both active use and everyday listening.
According to Bose, the Sport Open Earbuds are engineered for running, workouts, and outdoor activities, combining a secure, lightweight fit with a durable silicone design. The Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen), meanwhile, serve as Bose’s flagship open-ear model, pairing the brand’s cuff-shaped design with improved audio, longer battery life, and clearer calls for all-day use.
Both will be available from October 1, with exclusive MyBose pre-orders opening September 18 at Bose.com.au, followed by public pre-orders on Bose.com.au and through selected retailers from September 19.

Raza Haider, president of Bose Premium Consumer Audio, said the original Ultra Open Earbuds were designed to let people experience music without shutting out the world around them, and that the new lineup extends that same focus on comfort to sport while improving on the flagship model.
Both new earbuds are built on Bose OpenAudio technology, which combines a transducer with an acoustic structure designed to deliver clear sound directly to the ear with minimal leakage, backed by Bose SoundDesign digital signal processing for balancing clarity and bass. Unlike bone conduction designs, the earbuds deliver sound through the air rather than through vibration, and forgo active noise cancellation in favour of maintaining situational awareness.
Both models also include Bose SpeechClarity, an AI-enhanced voice-isolation system using a dedicated microphone and voice pickup unit in each earbud to isolate the wearer’s voice from background noise while preserving natural tone and expression.
The Sport Open Earbuds are built specifically for movement, with custom-designed dynamic drivers, tactile controls, and an Auto Volume feature that adjusts loudness as ambient noise changes. A C-arm cuff with a matte soft silicone finish is designed to stay secure through high-movement activity, while textured physical buttons offer reliable control during workouts. The earbuds are rated IP54 for resistance to sweat, splashes, and dust, and offer up to seven hours of playback, with a further 22 hours available via the wireless charging case.
The Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) carry over the recognisable cuff silhouette of the original but add a newly engineered driver for deeper bass and higher volume, along with SpeechClarity and Auto Volume. A new Cinema Mode, powered by Bose TrueSpatial technology, is designed to widen the soundstage for video and podcast content while keeping dialogue centred and clear. Design updates include a refined metallic cap with a bevelled finish, and a redesigned case that supports wireless charging. Battery life sits at up to nine hours of playback, with a further 19.5 hours available via the case, and the earbuds support Snapdragon Sound with aptX Adaptive for compatible Android devices.
