Borrowing features from the R20 that released last year, the R12 has a full-colour LCD touchscreen, with a multi-channel mixer and transport controls.

It features super clean preamps, and with two XLR/TRS inputs and eight tracks of audio, it’s perfect for recording.

The R12 also comes fully loaded with a send effects channel, that offers reverb, chorus, and delay, has panning capabilities, a three-band EQ for each track, and a compressor on inputs one and two.

With 150 pre-loaded drum loops, as well as an option to import your own samples, the R12 provides a versatile rhythm section for projects.

It also houses an onboard FM synthesiser, which offers eight-voice polyphony and 18 different synth sounds that can be played by plugging in a MIDI keyboard via USB-C, or programmed using the touch screen.

The R12 includes an 1/8” stereo headphone jack as well as 1/4” monitor outputs, and can also be used as in interface with your favourite DAW or streaming platform via USB-C.

As mentioned, the R12 is a portable studio, that allows you to make music on the go, this is made possible by the fact it has five hours of battery life on four AAs, but can also be used with the AD-17 power adapter that comes with the model.

While no price or release date has been announced, it is believed the Zoom R12 will ship in Q4 of 2022.
