Yours & Owls Festival has received government approval to go ahead this April

Words by Will Brewster

It's all going down in the 'Gong!

Finally, the news we’ve all been waiting for: after rescheduling the event back in December, the Wollongong edition of Yours & Owls Festival has been given the green light to go ahead as planned this April.

Head here for more touring news.

As revealed in a press statement circulated today, the festival’s COVID safety plan has had all boxes ticked by the NSW Government and the Ministry Of Health, ensuring that as long as the state’s COVID-19 situation stays under control, the festival is clear to move forward.

Given the unpredictably of the ongoing pandemic situation, Yours & Owls is currently still working towards finalising the format and site location for the festival, which will be confirmed to the public at a later date.

However, the festival will still be rolling ahead on the proposed dates of April 17 and 18, and will feature an identical lineup to the one initially released last July.

Alongside today’s news, the Yours & Owls team expressed their gratitude towards both ticket holders and NSW Health authorities for their patience as the festival continues to come together.

‘We want to thank you for your patience, support and never-ending love throughout this rollercoaster of COVID 19, this news is one giant step closer to us all hanging together in the coming weeks. We are delighted and appreciative to be one of the only major events in NSW to currently have an approval to proceed,’ a statement reads.

‘We are grateful to NSW Health and other stakeholders for their guidance and support. We will continue to work closely with them to ensure the event format is in line with what is required at the time we run, with patron and community safety as our number one priority.’
