One of the first festivals to go down in the new year.
Here we go! After much anticipation, Yours & Owls has announced its lineup for next January’s two day music festival in Wollongong, offering a snapshot of what to expect from live music in the post-COVID era.
The festival will be headlined by none other than Aussie busking breakout Tones And I, with fellow young pop sensation BENEE making the trek across from New Zealand to co-headline the event.
They’ll be joined by local festival drawcards Cosmo’s Midnight, DMA’s, Hayden James and Wollongong locals Hockey Dad, as well as PNAU, Lime Cordiale, What So Not, Winston Surfshirt, The Smith Street Band, Running Touch and Slowly Slowly, rounding out a huge bill of high-profile Aussie acts.
Yours & Owls are also using their stages to spotlight several underground, unsigned and up-and-coming acts from around the country, which could prove to be the future of Australian festivals until it’s safe to travel internationally.
These acts include Party Dozen, Clowns, Private Function, Jerome Farrah, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, Verge Collection, The Grogans, Greta Stanley, DRAFT DAY, Wax Mustang and many, many more. It’s great to see a festival get behind so many bands like this in a time where live music has been so adversely affected, and we hope to see similar lineups from other festivals as more are announced in the lead up to summer.
Yours & Owls has also announced that their 2021 festival will be following all local protocols and will work alongside health authorities in order to deliver the safe and functional festival we all deserve, which really does show the commitment that’s going into the relaunch of the live music sector.
