The new plan bundles LUNA Studio DAW with a growing library of 70 native UAD plug-ins and instruments.
Universal Audio has introduced UAD Spark Studio, a new music production subscription that bundles LUNA Studio, the company’s full DAW, together with its entire native UAD plug-in and virtual instrument library into a single creative environment.
The subscription includes an expanding collection of 70 native UAD plug-ins, spanning emulations from Neve, Ampex, Lexicon and more, alongside virtual instruments including Minimoog, PolyMAX and Electra88. It works with any audio interface, with accelerated performance available on UA’s own Apollo and Volt lines.

“UAD Spark Studio brings the whole studio together in one place,” said Bill Putnam Jr., CEO of Universal Audio. “LUNA, UAD plug-ins, instruments — it’s all there, so you can spend less time setting things up and more time making music.”
The move reflects a broader shift among production software brands toward bundled, subscription-based ecosystems, positioning Universal Audio to compete more directly with all-in-one platforms rather than relying solely on standalone plug-in sales. By folding LUNA and the full UAD catalogue into one plan, the company is betting that convenience and continuity — rather than piecemeal purchases — will be the deciding factor for producers choosing where to build their workflow.
At the centre of the package is LUNA Studio, which arrives with a batch of new smart tools and workflow upgrades. These include stem separation, audio-to-MIDI conversion for building out virtual instrument layers, and lyric transcription and chord extraction powered by Moises. There’s also LUNA Play, a stripped-back mode designed to work like a voice memo app built specifically for songwriting, with automatic level setting and built-in UAD plug-in presets for quick capture of ideas.
LUNA 3.0 rounds out the update with a broader set of production and editing features, including a piano roll, folder tracks, chord, key and time signature rulers, an adaptive grid, clip gain automation, record FX, strip silence, click track automation, and support for recording mono sources onto stereo tracks.
