The native UAD plugin captures the legendary Hollywood studio's rooms, analog gear and Bill Putnam Sr.-designed reverb chambers using Dynamic Room Modelling technology.
Universal Audio has unveiled Ocean Way Studios Deluxe, an expanded version of its award-winning studio emulation plugin. Available natively for Mac and Windows in VST3, AU and AAX formats, the new release places tracks inside the historic Hollywood rooms that shaped recordings by Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, Radiohead and Beck.

Built using UA’s Dynamic Room Modelling technology, Ocean Way Studios Deluxe models Studio A and Studio B, both originally designed by Bill Putnam Sr., alongside three custom reverb chambers that have given the facility its reputation among professional engineers and producers.
“With Ocean Way Studios Deluxe, we wanted to bring creators even closer to the sound of these historic rooms,” says Lev Perrey, VP of Product at Universal Audio. “It’s a complete re-imagining of one of our most beloved plugins—now featuring the chambers, analog consoles, and re-miking setups.”
The plugin includes authentic models of gear from Ocean Way’s collection: Studio A features the Focusrite 110 EQ with cut filters, while Studio B incorporates the Dalcon console with API 550A EQ. Classic dynamics processing comes via Fairchild 670, LA-2A, 1176LN and dbx 160 compressors, joined by A-Type Air and Crush dynamics processors.
New re-miking systems add UREI 813 monitors—Bill Putnam’s dual 15-inch coaxial design—and Altec A-2 folded-horn cabinets, both longtime fixtures at Ocean Way. These allow users to place virtual microphones in the space and reamp tracks through the modelled speaker systems.
Additional features include reimagined retina graphics, an updated interface design, curated presets and flexible routing options. Ocean Way Studios Deluxe is available as a perpetual licence or through a UAD Spark subscription, with an upgrade path offered for current Ocean Way Studios owners.
