The compact guitar maker brings full-scale twang and bite to its portable lineup with a single-coil setup.
Traveler Guitar has answered the call from players who’ve been asking for a portable axe that doesn’t compromise on classic tone. The new EG-3 Standard arrives in Butterscotch Blonde, delivering the chime and punch of traditional single-coil guitars while maintaining the company’s travel-friendly philosophy.

Built around a full 25.5-inch scale length, the EG-3 packs a chrome lipstick neck pickup paired with a snarling single-coil bridge pickup—a combination that covers everything from clean, bell-like tones through to aggressive rock bite. The maple neck features jumbo frets that invite string bending and fast riffing, whilst the classic Butterscotch Blonde finish nods to rock and roll heritage.
What sets this apart from traditional guitars is the weight. Tipping the scales at just 2.46 kilograms, the EG-3 is substantially lighter than a standard solid-body electric, making it an ideal option for players looking for a guitar they can take around with them that won’t destroy their back or dominate their luggage allotment.
Traveler Guitar built its reputation on creating compact instruments for musicians on the move, but previous models often sacrificed traditional tone and feel for portability. The EG-3 represents a shift in approach by keeping the lightweight construction whilst embracing a full-scale neck and conventional pickup configuration.
The result is a guitar that’s suitable for touring musicians, session players who move between studios, or even someone wanting to travel with a smaller, lightweight guitar purely for practice and play. It’s not trying to replace your main axe, but it’s capable enough that you won’t feel like you’re making massive compromises either.
The EG-3 Standard is available now through Australis Music Group in Australia. For local enquiries, head here.
