The one-off chairty performance comes in addition to The xx’s hotly anticipated outdoor shows with Kelela and Earl Sweatshirt in support of their latest album I See You, including a sold out performance at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
In a press statement released this morning, the UK outfit named local charities Heaps Decent and Minus 18, who have been instrumental in supporting disadvantaged and LGBTIQ members of society, as being the recipients of all profits from the performance, stating: “We are so excited to announce that we are playing an intimate show at The Forum in Melbourne in support of two amazing local charities. Minus18 and Heaps Decent do a lot for young people from different communities, and we’re really happy to partner with them. All profit from the show will be donated to these two wonderful organisations. We hope to see you there, and we are really looking forward to spending some time in Australia really soon.”
With pre-sale starting tomorrow at 9am and general sale tickets being released Thursday 21 December, there’s every chance this show’s going to sell out within minutes – make sure you get them while they’re hot.
