On Good Friday, Taste reunited for one exclusive hometown show at Melbourne’s Ding Dong Lounge. Punters had the unique experience of not only hearing the band’s new single ‘I Am God’ before anybody else, but seeing the premiere of the track’s accompanying music video. Directed by Clayton Jacobson, the clip is a stunning post-apocalyptic vision stalking the havoc of a world in flames.
The boys certainly experienced the spotlight back in the 70’s. After two Top 20 albums in just two years and four hit singles including ‘Tickle Your Fancy’ and their unapologetic trademark track ‘Boys Will Be Boys’, it looked like the future was going to be super bright for the Aussie outfit. Unfortunately, just before they singed on with US label Sire Records, their parents broke down the door of their manager’s Melbourne apartment and all hell broke loose. 1977 marked the end of Taste, or so we thought…
‘I am God’ is the first single to be pulled from Taste’s upcoming album Life On Earth, which is set for release late May. All of the original members of the outfit, including acclaimed drummer Virgil Donate, will be performing live for one night only.
