The singer-songwriter will strike all the major city centres of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth while also making room for stops in Woolongong and Canberra at the new ANU MOLO Live venue. Vile has also joined the lineup for 2019’s Byron Bay Bluesfest.
Vile’s new record Bottle it In is set for an October 12 release date via Matador Records/Remote Control, and the nine-track LP is shaping up to be a worthy follow-up to 2015’s unexpected hit B’lieve I’m Goin Down… The moody nine minute sprawl of ‘Bassackwards’ is the first taste of the record, evolving his brand of loping psychadelia.
RVG’s support slot will bring them to more Australian cities than they have ever done before, following the success of their European dates this year. Their 2017 debut A Quality of Mercy is an important listen, leading the wave of Aussie indie-pop-rock successes of the last two years that includes Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever and The Goon Sax.
Vile last visited our shores playing solo last year after the release of Lotta Sea Lice with Courtney Barnett and his return with the full-band force of The Violators is eagerly anticipated.
Presale tickets for Kurt Vile and The Violators + RVG are on sale now, with general release 9am AEST Thursday, 13th September.
