Jamie xx is headlining an anti-coal rave in Australia next Saturday

No Coal Zone is set to kick off at Sydney’s Hordern Pavillion on Saturday March 14, with Jamie xx being joined by DJ sets from The Avalanches and Midnight Juggernauts, as well as a screening of Johnathan Zawada and Mark Pritchard’s The Four Worlds audio-visual project. The gig will also feature appareances from Heaps Gay and Friends, Ptwiggs and DeepFaith, with all proceeds from the show going to environmental law charities ClientEarth and Immersive Climate Education.

Jamie spoke of his involvement with the initiative in a social media post, saying that “I’ve spent a lot of time in Australia over the past decade and each time I come I’m inspired to make music. I’m always blown away by its awe-inspiring nature, the unrivalled friendliness of its people and the quality of its Doofs. The loss it’s suffered has been a blow to people all around the world, so it felt only right to come back this year and help raise money through this party.”
