Cherry Rock 2016 will see AC/DC Lane and the Cherry Bar light up in a blaze or rock-heavy glory. The self-proclaimed ‘best bar in the world’ has, since its 1999 incarnation, been offering local acts a platform in which they can both share their music and build a solid fan-base.
If you weren’t already gearing up to support one of Melbourne’s most iconic bars, the announcement of their headlining act is guaranteed to pull you over the line. Riche Ramone, drummer for the legendary punk outfit The Ramones, is going to be gracing Cherry’s stage on the night.
James Young, owner of the Cherry Bar, enlightens us to why the rocker compliments the spirit of the night. He explains that ‘ten years is a hell of an achievement. Like Richie Ramone, Cherry is ‘’too tough to die’’ ‘.
Cherry Rock 2016 will be taking place on Sunday, May 5. You can pick up early bird tickets through the venue’s website. Richie Ramone will also be performing shows in Byron Bay, Brisbane and Sydney while he’s down for Cherry Rock.
