American Football are headlining a Minecraft music festival this weekend

Other than American Football’s headlining set, Nether Meant (an obvious nod to the band’s track ‘Never Meant’) is set to feature performances from the likes of Drive 45, Baths, Anamanaguchi and HANA. If you’re an avid Minecraft user, you can actually log on and watch the festival via the virtual world itself, which sounds way too weird to be true. You can also simply stream it from Twitch if you’re not too keen on being a pixelated character to see American Football’s set – check out the lineup in full below.

Open Pit are even selling Nether Meant VIP passes to access special areas in-game, as well as unique merch. Proceeds from these passes will actually go to a COVID-19 relief fund, which is somewhat reassuring. American Football’s Mike Kinsella made light of the festival in a statement released today, saying “Iā€™m looking forward to (finally) being able to prove to my 7-year-old son that I do, indeed, have a job.ā€

If you’re keen on enjoying a musical Minecraft experience closer to home, don’t sweat – there’s currently also a Splendour In The Grass Minecraft map you can explore on the internet right now.
