Cypress Hill – Back in Black

The album follows their critically acclaimed 2018 album Elephants On Acid which Sen Dog said is a return to their roots.

“We were proud hip-hoppers back in the day and we’ve gone through it all. We’re proud to be part of the hip-hop industry. Doing a straight hip-hop joint was the way to go,” he said.

Back In Black sees them enter an incredible fourth decade of releases, shining a spotlight on the reason they’re consistently hailed as one of the greatest hip-hop acts of all time.

Sonic Youth – In/Out/In

While it may not be the reunion many have hoped for, In/Out/In still offers somewhat fresh music from Sonic Youth with five unreleased tracks recorded from 2000 to 2010.

The Sonic Youth on In/Out/In is in between the Jim O’Rourke and the Mark Ibold years as the five tracks reflect neither the incongruous guitars of their early ’80s work, nor the phat noise-grunge of their ’90s records once they became much more popular.

Rather In/Out/In feels, in large part, like Sonic Youth embracing freedom.

Tropical Fu*k Storm & King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard – Satanic Slumber Party

Long-time friends Tropical Fu*k Storm and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have come together for the first time with an unholy psych noise pop offering, a joint EP, Satanic Slumber Party.

Tropical Fu*k Storm’s Fiona Kitschin said “King Gizz were up at our house a while ago, recording their album Fishing For Fishies with Gaz”. Then after a long day recording and a few too many drinks, the Gizz guys and us all wore hats and recorded a very long jam, which we called ‘Hat Jam.’

Gizz took ideas from the jam and made up a new song called the ‘Dripping Tap’ and Tropical Fuck Storm took the ‘Hat Jam’ recording and turned it into Satanic Slumber Party. It’s four guitars, three drummers, two synths, bass, harmonica, electronic sax and lots of singers and silliness. It’s like ‘Love Shack’ by the B52’s except it’s evil.”
