Sennheiser's fifth-generation MOMENTUM arrives with doubled ANC microphones, aptX Lossless, incoming Dolby Atmos support and a user-replaceable battery that could change how long you keep them.
Sennheiser’s MOMENTUM 5 Wireless is here, packing double the ANC microphones, aptX Lossless support, spatial audio and a user-replaceable battery into what the brand calls its most capable MOMENTUM yet.
The 42mm transducer carries over from its predecessor – manufactured at Sennheiser’s facility in Tullamore, Ireland and tuned for full-bodied sound with dynamic bass – with the new model adding Hi-Res Audio certification and Snapdragon Sound technology with codec support up to aptX Lossless. An 8-band EQ, bespoke presets and a Sound Personalisation engine are accessible through the updated Smart Control Plus companion app.

Noise cancellation has had the most significant rework. Microphone count dedicated to ANC and transparency has doubled to four per side, making the MOMENTUM 5 Wireless up to three times more effective at reducing ambient voice chatter than its predecessor. Airplane cabin drone and call quality have both improved as a result.
Spatial audio is part of the package. Dolby Atmos with head-tracking arrives via firmware update for supported content, and the headphones ship with Bluetooth 5.4 with Bluetooth 6.0 readiness built in for a future release.
Battery life is rated at 57 hours with ANC active, backed by quick charging. The most notable addition is a user-replaceable 700 mAh battery, swappable with just a small Phillips-head screwdriver, which increases its longevity tenfold. The carry case has been trimmed by 20% for easier portability, and packaging has gone plastic-free.
