This new addition to PRS Guitars’ catalogue shares several features with its predecessor, including a 22-fret, 25” scale length neck with a semi-hollow body that features a single f-hole. Also retained is the hum-Narrowfield-hum pickup configuration.
The Private Stock Special Semi-Hollow Limited Edition is made with the “finest woods” from the Private Stock Vault, boasting a maple top, a black limba back and neck, ziricote fretboard, truss rod cover, and headstock veneer. For the Private Stock team, the combination of a black limba back and neck adds to the overall “tonal balance”.
Additionally, this guitar features white mother of pearl and paua inlays, smoked back hardware, and are finished with a high-gloss nitro Citrus Glow colourway. For Paul Miles, PRS Director of Private Stock, the colourway of this “extremely versatile” model was aimed at creating a “dramatic aesthetic contrast” between the smoked black hardware and the Citrus Glow finish.
This model will be made in an extremely limited run, with only 85 available.
