The Maryland guitar maker has introduced both a turquoise Silver Sky with John Mayer and an Ed Sheeran hollowbody baritone featuring his original artwork.
PRS Guitars is kicking off 2026 with a pair of artist collaborations that showcase two very different sides of creative expression. The company has announced both the Silver Sky Wild Blue Limited Edition with John Mayer and the SE Ed Sheeran “Cosmic Splash” Limited Edition—each capped at 1,000 pieces worldwide.

The Silver Sky Wild Blue’s turquoise finish has been waiting in the vault since the original Silver Sky launched in 2018. Not only that, but the release marks a significant first for the model: it’s the only Silver Sky to feature a matching painted headstock. Mayer, an avid watch collector, drew inspiration from the turquoise hues found in high-end timepieces.
Beyond the striking colour, the Wild Blue maintains everything that’s made the Silver Sky a modern classic. Players will get Mayer’s signature 635JM pickups, an alder body, 25.5″ scale length maple neck with a 7.25″ radius, and small bird inlays. This limited run exclusively features a rosewood fretboard, joining Nebula and Lunar Ice as only the third limited-edition Silver Sky colourway ever produced.

Meanwhile, the SE Ed Sheeran “Cosmic Splash” breaks new ground as the first PRS x Ed Sheeran model available for public purchase, and the first-ever hollowbody baritone in the PRS catalogue. The guitar’s finish replicates one of Sheeran’s 2025 Cosmic Carpark paintings, a series he created and sold to benefit the Ed Sheeran Foundation. Each guitar ships with an 8″ x 8″ print of that same painting, hand-signed by Sheeran himself.
Sheeran’s approach to staying creative off the road—”keep the faucet running,” as he puts it—translates beautifully to this instrument. Built on the SE Hollowbody I platform, it features the PRS/LR Baggs Piezo system and 85/15 “S” pickups, allowing players to blend acoustic and electric voices. The 27.7″ baritone scale length opens up lower tuning possibilities, while the slimmer “flatback” design keeps the feel closer to a solid-body electric.
Fretboard inlays reference Sheeran’s “Stereo” album series with Play, Pause, Rewind, Fast-Forward, and Stop symbols, with the Play icon also appearing on the truss rod cover. Both limited editions represent PRS’s knack for turning an artist’s vision into tangible instruments that extend beyond just signature models, and into something more personal.
