This rare footage was shot inside Fender’s original factory in Fullerton, California, and features company icons, including Leo Fender and Abigail Yabarra (whose pickups likely found their way onto guitars used by Clapton, Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan).
Inside the factory, we see pretty much the entire process of building a guitar, from cutting the body from a slab of wood to pickups being wound to the guitar being tuned and played by a factory worker. It is, however, vision that would likely give my safety-conscious year nine woodwork teacher a heart attack, with little to no protective gear being worn and seemingly no safety protocols in place.
The video is a nostalgic look at the production of some of the best guitars of all time, and guitars made in that video would likely sell for thousands of dollars these days.
