The company are offering a small batch of 40 pickup sets recreating the exact pickups that Duncan wound for Hendrix in the late ’60s. Each set includes a calibrated neck, middle and bridge Stratocaster pickup with a reverse magnet stagger to replicate the distinct Hendrix ‘upside down’ sound.
The limited run of pickups have also been put through the Seymour Duncan Antiquity aging process to replicate the age of Hendrix’s original set, and feature aged white covers to match the vintage sound output. Each set is shipped in a commemorative wooden box featuring a laser engraved logo, with all 40 sets being signed, dated, and serialized by Seymour W. Duncan himself.
Watch a video of Duncan reminiscing on his time spent working with Jimi Hendrix below. Although the first run of Hendrix pickups has already sold out, Seymour Duncan are holding a contest to give one lucky punter the chance to win their own set – enter here.
