While not straying too far from the path laid by the preceding StudioLive AR range, these new mixers feature USB-C connectivity for a super-speedy response, letting you lay down and mix high quality audio at ridiculously fast rates. There’s also newly-designed high-headroom analogue circuits and updated high-gain XMAX preamps plucked straight from their Studio USB interface series, as well as new Bluetooth 5.0 technology.
For users needing a wide variety of ins and outs, the StudioLive AR16c presents eight mono and four stero channels, as well as 12 mic inputs, 16 line inputs and two dedicated instrument inputs. All mono channels feature 3-band EQs with semi-parametric mids, while two monitor buses and one FX bus provides 16 presets and send/returns. The integrated 24 bit audio interface can also utilse 18 inputs and four outputs.
If you’re keen on something a little more sizable, there’s also the AR12c and AR8c, which contain the same quality specs as the AR16c but with fewer ins and outs, while the AR8c does away with the volume faders of its larger siblings and utilises rotary knobs to maintain its compact dimensions. All new interfaces also include PreSonus’s StudioOne Artist DAQ, Capture live multitrack recording software and Studio Magic plug-in suites as standard, ensuring that you’re ready to rock and roll from the get-go.
