Small enough to assemble into a backpack or a travel bag, American guitar makers KLOS’ latest offers several points of difference to other lightweight guitars. The neck easily detatches from the body for portability and can be stored in overhead lockers or suitcases.
However, the neck is made of mahogany or rosewood and so has a familiar feel for players. The body itself is made of carbon fiber, a combination of durable fibers and strong resin to protect the instrument whilst travelling.
This definitely marks a new turn for guitar manufactures and especially touring musicals whom have dealt with such an issue. Havig succesfully raised funds for the project via a Kickstarter campaign, the company are preparing to ship out the first guitars before Christmas.
