On first glimpse, the Les Paul Player Plus Series looks identical to its older brethren, however, the series plays host to some minor modifications to make it a bit more friendly on both the environment and your wallet. The traditional rosewood fretboard you’ve come to know on love on a Les Paul is swapped out in favour of a modern Richlite fingerboard with cryogenically treated frets due to a worldwide CITES restriction on the export of endangered timbers such as rosewood and various species of mahogany. The series also features a deluxe satin finish on all models and a modern rounded neck profile for optimized comfort.
The Gibson Les Paul Player Plus Series also offers three different pickup configurations, coming loaded with red-hot spanky P-90’s, Gibson’s classic BurstBucker Pro Humbuckers, or the heavily underrated, bright tones of the Mini Humbuckers. Pick your poison.
