Fender Unveils New California Coast Series Ukuleles

With five diverse models up for offer, Fender’s Californian Coast Series offers a range of soprano, concert and tenor ukuleles for players of any skill level. Combining the classic features of the traditional Hawaiian instrument with more modern Fender appointments, such as a C-shaped neck profile and a Telecaster inspired headstock on three of the models.

The new California Coast series includes Fender’s entry level Venice model, offering a soprano ukulele with a comfortable body size, Telecaster headstock and no-tie string bridge to act as the perfect instrument for players new to the world of ukulele.

For a perfect mid-range ukulele, the soprano Seaside model features a solid Mahogany top and a slim C shaped neck profile, with the traditional 2×2 headstock and binding of the instrument giving it a subtle, organic appearance .

The Zuma concert-sized ukulele is crafted from sapele, and features an open pore finish to blend well with other instruments when mixed, as well as a 16 fret fingerboard to further open up the sonic possibilities of the instrument.

The slightly more upmarket Rincon tenor uke is constructed with Ovangkol, and boasts an onboard Fishman preamp, allowing players to plug in and rock out to their favourite ukulele hits. The Rincon also features a traditional headstock with closed tuners, as well as a bone nut for tone and tuning stability.

However, the Montecito is the real cream of the California Coast crop here, featuring a solid Koa top, abalone binding and inlays, and a Telecaster headstock for supreme aesthetic elegance.
