With a semi-hollow mahogany body, modern deep C rosewood neck and 22-fret rosewood fretboard, the Rarities Flame Maple Top Thinline Stratocaster is certainly one spec’d out Stratocaster. It’s loaded with Custom Shop ’69 Strat single coil pickups in the neck and middle positions, while a Custom Double-Tap humbucker in the bridge offers a slight splash of extra grit when you need it the most.
In the controls department, everything seems to be stock standard, with the exception of an S-1 switch to split the humbucker and open up even further tonal possibilities. There’s also a two-point synchronized tremolo bridge, Fender Standard Cast/Sealed Staggered tuners and nickel/chrome hardware. It rounds out what’s been a huge year of exclusive releases from the big F, and we can only expect 2020 to be even bigger still.
