The successful Launchkey range boasts the portable Launchkey Mini, as well as different key sizes including 25, 37, 49, and 61.

All the features from the lauded smaller models are preserved such as the 16 velocity-sensitive pads, the easy DAW connectivity, Scale mode, Chord mode, and arpeggiator.

The Scale lock function locks the keyboard into your chosen scale, forcing all the keys on the keyboard into a note from that scale, meaning you never have to play a wrong note again.

The fixed Chord button allows you to input a chord shape that you can play anywhere on the keyboard, a handy feature for those not blessed with fingers long enough to play octaves comfortably.

Launchkey’s built-in arpeggiator is ultra-customisable, the rotary pots at the top of the unit controlling the Arp’s tempo, swing and note length, the Mutate and Deviate pots offer wildcard modulation to the arpeggiated notes and rhythm respectively.

What sets this apart from the smaller models in function is its premium semi-weighted keybed which Novation said is their “best feeling keymech to date, the result of meticulous refinement and testing”.

“Novation’s award-winning MIDI keyboard controllers empower artists to excel with their creativity and make music without barriers,” they said.

“Whether it’s in the studio or on the stage, Launchkey 88 gives musicians all the tools they need to play expressively and say more with their music.”
