The Impact LX Mini has 25 velocity-sensitive keys, eight velocity-sensitive pads, a joystick for pitch bend and modulation, a footswitch jack, seven transport buttons for DAW control and eight pots which have multiple applications.

Nektar have advertised that the new controller is designed to ‘give your mouse a break’ with its DAW integration package that currently supports Ableton Live, Bitwig, Cakewalk, Cubase, Digital Performer, FL Studio, GarageBand, Logic Pro X, Mixcraft, Nuendo, Reason, Reaper and Studio One.

The joystick on this device allows you to pitch bend by moving it left and right, while controlling modulation when moved up and down but can be set to control any MIDI CC# number parameter.

Through the eight control knobs, there’s an instrument mode which allows for the control of instrument parameters within the plugin of your choice. With the page button, it’s possible to tweak 16 parameters with two per knob available. The knobs are also used for programming and editing the in-built arpeggiator of which there is two independent arps.

The new release comes with the Bitwig 8-Track DAW included with every purchase, to allow newcomers to start making music from the get go.
