There’s a sunny twang to the track, with a head out of the car window, tongue in the wind kind of feel. The accompanying clip appropriately features some “dog-cam” action, in amongst guitar and drum playing in the Australian outback.
Of the song, singer and guitarist Fran Keaney says, “It’s a cross-country love song – about getting out of town, being somewhere else, fast.” The track is lifted from the band’s forthcoming EP Talk Tight, and follows their debut single ‘Clean Slate’, which received some love from community radio as well as Triple J rotation.
After recently selling out their Melbourne headline shows, and supporting The Preatures on the Victorian leg of their ‘Cruel’ tour, Rolling Blackouts have been announced as the lead support for US grunge throwbacks Bully when they tour Australia later this year.
