Although Parliament and their sister group Funkadelic are calling it a day this year, the George Clinton led-collective are ensuring you don’t miss their funky voices one bit with these reissues.
Label Urban Legends/Universal Music Enterprises announced in a press release bog standard 180g black pressings of 1974’s Up for the Down Stroke and 1975’s Chocolate City alongside unique limited editions for each. The former will get a bumper tranluscent red vinyl, while the latter is receiving the picture disc treatment. Recently, Mothership Connection and The Clones of Dr. Funkenstein were similarly reissued, each boasting a flashy lenticular 3D cover.
Unfortunately, if this release has got you itching to see George Clinton and his funky acolytes one last time you’ve just missed their last Australian dates in April. If you’re a mega fan, Parliament will be touring the U.S in August; dates are here.
