The band have been hyping their fifth album, Alien, with the early release of four tracks, ‘Vultures’, ‘Talking Heads’, ‘Bloodline’ and now the brand new track ‘Eclipse’.
The album is an honest depiction of vocalist Marcus Bridge’s traumatic childhood, and ‘Eclipse’ is another powerful track reflecting on this part of his life. “‘Eclipse’ is an attempt to understand the reasons and motivations behind the things my father did,” says Bridge of the track’s message.
“When everything else in his life went wrong, he took it out on my sister and I. It’s easy to say that he was just a bad father but it was a bit more complicated than that. Despite trying to see it through his eyes, I’ve promised myself that I will never turn out like him, as a father, a husband or a man.”
Northlane have been making a huge impact on the heavy music scene not only locally, but abroad too. The band has recently returned from a huge tour of Japan and is already booked out until the end of the year with their Alien World Tour.
