Noel Gallagher To Auction Oasis-Era Equipment

The new album, the third under the High Flying Bird moniker, is titled Who Built The Moon?, with producer David Holmes, stating that it’ll be different from their previous work. “A lot of Noel’s music is quite mid-tempo. This one is fun,” he said.

Who Built The Moon?  features guest appearances from Paul Weller on organ, and John Marr on guitar and harmonica, and is set for release in November.

Noel Gallagher announcing a new album was of course, the perfect opportunity for Liam Gallagher to jump onto Twitter and put in his two cents. “Psychedelic music by a beige drip is like a vegetarian trying to sell you a kebab as you were,” wrote Liam. “It takes more than wheeling out your old mate Uri Gellar and Har Mar to make a so called out there record snoozer as you were.”

Using the online equipment retail platform Reverb, Gallagher is selling close to 50 items, including an Orange OR120 Overdrive amp that he used while touring with Oasis, as well as a 1960s Epiphone Professional Guitar and amp set, a ’70s Laney amp, two 1965 Vox AC50 heads, a ’60s WEDM Copicat tape delay, and a late ’90s melotron, which was used on several Oasis recordings. “These pieces have a lot of history, but they’re still very playable – I’d love to get them into the hands of someone who will put them to good use,” said the celebrated songwriter.

Noel Gallagher’s equipment will be up for auction on Monday October 2 via Reverb. Who Built The Moon? will be released on Friday November 24 via Sour Mash Records/Universal Music and can be preordered here.
