Gordon’s first solo album has nine tracks, including ‘Sketch Artist’, which she recently released alongside a video featuring a cameo from Broad City’s Abbi Jackson. The album also includes a re-release of Gordon’s 2016 single “Murdered Out”.
Check out the video for “Sketch Artist” below:
No Home Record was produced by Justin Raisen and recorded at Los Angeles’ Sphere Ranch, and also features contributions from Shawn Everett (Weezer, Julian Casablancas) and Jake Meginsky. The title was inspired by Chantal Akerman’s film No Home Movie, and the album’s themes will touch on the commodification of consumerism and identity.
Gordon’s solo album comes just over a year after The Switch, Gordon’s Body/Head project with Bill Nace, and 10 years after the last Sonic Youth album, The Eternal.
No Home Record will be available October 13, and fingers crossed we’ll be blessed with another track before then.
