The new album Songs For Our Mothers was recorded at the Trashmouth Studios in New Malden, and New York’s Marcate Studios – where both Swans and Titus Andronicus have done some of their best work – and is the follow up to scintillating debut, Champagne Holocaust. Co-producing with the band was Liam Trashmouth.
They had a lot to say in their debut, always with palpable force and intent, and the new album is no different. Speaking on the new release the band states, “While our first LP might be considered an assault, a spasmodic outpouring of disdain generated by the utter tedium of life when it is found unliveable, Songs For Our Mothers is an invitation. It is an invitation, sent by misery, to dance to the beat of human hatred.”
As their reputation for hammering live shows continues to build, Fat White Family are serving up song after song, each engrained with a bustling liveliness and propelled by unrelenting hooks.
