Cold Chisel share new single, detail forthcoming LP Blood Moon

Written by keyboardist and primary songwriter Don Walker, ‘Getting The Band Back Together’ is Cold Chisel’s tongue-in-cheek way of referencing their own current status as a group, reuniting for a run of massive outdoor shows. The single, which was produced and mixed by the band’s longtime associate Kevin Shirley, sees Ian Moss and Jimmy Barnes sharing lead vocal duties, a la ‘Bow River’ or ‘Saturday Night’. We can guarantee this one’s gonna slap down at the RSL.

Don Walker detailed the nature of the song in a statement released today, saying “’Getting The Band Back Together’ seemed like the right sentiment to accompany the tour but the album itself has a lot of songs that are darker than that, and a few quieter ones too. It’s great to still be making new music and finding new ways to do it after all these years.”

The release of the new track is also accompanied by the news that Cold Chisel will release their new album Blood Moon on Friday December 6. The band are set to press the new record on a range of formats, including CD, vinyl and cassette, with a portion of sales from the limited cassette run going to Foodbank.

Blood Moon, the new album from Cold Chisel, is set for release on Friday December 6 via the band’s own label on Universal Music. They’re also heading out on a huge outdoor tour this summer – head to their website for all the dates and details.
