While many rules and restrictions surrounding COVID-19 have relaxed, council approvals for various factors such as sites, production and vendors require booking well in advance, leaving Destroy All Lines with little choice but to postpone.

Aside from dates, the only other minor fixture change is in Melbourne, where the single-staged festival has been moved from Reunion Park in Burnley to the Port Melbourne Industrial Centre for the Arts (PICA). This will be one of the first shows at PICA, with the newly developed venue available for hire from June 1.

The event is set to open on Saturday August 13 at Eatons Hill Outdoors, Brisbane, followed by an appearance at Bella Vista Farm in Sydney on August 20. Monolith Festival will then continue at PICA, Melbourne on August 27, before finishing off at the Red Hill Auditorium in Perth on Saturday September 17.

In some good news, the members of the original music programme for the festival have all agreed to the new dates.

The seven-act line-up includes the likes of Aussie rock powerhouses Karnivool and Cog, touring together for the first time in 17 years. Additionally, several other staples of Australian progressive hard rock, such as Ocean Grove, Plini, sleepsmakeswaves, and up-and-comers Yomi Ship will all perform.
