Skills / Experience Required:

  • At least two years’ experience in a professional copywriting or media environment.
  • A tertiary qualification in journalism, media, communications, professional writing or a related area is desirable.
  • Exceptionally strong writing and editing skills.
  • An understanding of the interrelationships been various music and arts industry stakeholders; PR, labels, touring businesses, venues, agencies etc.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience using a web based CMS like WordPress or Drupal.

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Writing, sourcing and publishing written content about a broad range of topics of interest to cultural enthusiasts living in Melbourne and Victoria.
  • Application of Beat’s SEO strategy to all website content.
  • Coordinating Beat’s social media channels and spearheading strategies to encourage audience engagement and growth.
  • Creating and sending e-newsletters to subscribers and driving subscription numbers through initiatives such as competitions and giveaways.
  • Closely working with Beat’s advertising and content sales team and assisting in identifying commercial opportunities, engaging with advertisers/partners and conceiving commercial content ideas.
  • Managing the rollout of commercial and branded content across Beat’s digital platforms.

Media and PR Manager – Lucky Entertainment (Melbourne)

Lucky Ent houses multiple record labels led by the renowned Teamwrk Records. Teamwrk was formed to help upcoming artists break through their music not just in Australia but on a world wide scale backed by all of Lucky Ents resources, staff and artists. Since its inception in September 2017 Teamwrk Records releases have amassed over a billion streams world wide and unearthed Platinum and Gold selling artists such as Masked Wolf, Will Sparks and Tyron Hapi to name a few.

Lucky Ent/Teamwrk Records is looking to appoint a Media and PR Manager to promote Lucky artists, releases and Events. This role forms an integral part of the teams’ promotions strategy to help break artists.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Preferable 2+ years’ experience in a similar role or a role with relevant promotions experience in the music/entertainment industry and existing relationships
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills
  • Knowledge or practical understanding of the digital music market and digitally focused marketing campaigns
  • A broad music knowledge including Lucky/Teamwrk repertoire is vital
  • Proven organisational, co-ordination and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including creative writing, proposal writing)
  • Excellent persuasive skills

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Promoting Teamwrk artists to AUS media, with a focus on community radio, TV and online press/blogs
  • Working closely with wider Lucky/Teamwork team to create and implement national campaigns for label releases and events – pitching widespread artist promo and coverage, as well as overseeing all on-ground opportunities
  • Applying a professional, personable and “can do” attitude to artist, management and label requests.
  • Campaign briefing, debriefing and weekly reporting
  • Database maintenance and press release management
  • Dealing with sensitive and confidential information
  • Develop and maintain relationships with a wide variety of National radio, press, TV and online contacts to ensure maximum exposure for Teamwrk Artists.
  • Responsible for servicing these media contacts by physical visits, phone, Zoom and email correspondence, via regular distribution of product, press releases, videos, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring all said media enquiries are followed up thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Act as a central co-ordination point for all artists you represent with said media contacts, and pitch and co-ordinate activities, interviews, competitions, live performances, etc.
  • Ensure that key promotional contacts attend our artist launch events, gigs, and company events and festivals.

Staff Engineer – Tech Lead Mobile Apps (Android) – Dolby Laboratories (Sydney)

Dolby is transitioning from an ingredient brand to an experience brand. They’re building direct relationships in Android consumer space through their Google play award winning app – Dolby On.

Your role at Dolby is leading the development, prototyping, and deployment of new features in Dolby Apps for Android that enable an amazing variety of experiences in Music/ Video capture and playback.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or computer science or equivalent.
  • Solid background in architecting and developing native android apps for Google Playstore
  • 6+ years’ commercial experience in mobile apps engineering using Kotlin and/or Java
  • Professional experience using Android Media frameworks is desirable
  • Professional experience using Android Studio, Firebase and JSON/REST, RxJava2, Dependency Injection, Room, Data Binding in mobile applications
  • Experience using application programming design patterns (MVC, MVVM etc)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Plan, design, develop and deliver Android native audio-video capture, playback and streaming application proof of concepts
  • Lead the “Dolby On” android app development with cross geo team and stakeholders
  • Lead and contribute towards Android application software architecture and design, functional implementation and code reviews
  • Serve as an android apps development expert in project team to evangelise and follow industry best software development processes
  • Serve as a technical lead, mentor and guide for junior members in project team;
  • Establish and breakdown product requirements to software design requirements.
  • Collaborate with audio/video engineers and QA engineers in the company on projects.
  • Anticipate and mitigate potential issues and risks in a cross-geo project.
