Technical Service and Support – Link Audio (Melbourne)

Responsible for distributing keynote pro audio brands such as PreSonus, Waldorf, SPL and Aston Microphones around Australia, Link Audio are on the lookout for a savvy candidate to fill a Technical Service and Support role in their Rowville office.

Skills / Experience Required: 

  • Good fundamental knowledge of studio recording (DAW) and live sound production. Digital mixer experience is an advantage.
  • Good communication skills (you’ll be on the phone a lot)
  • Able to work in both a team environment and autonomously
  • Strong computer skills on both Mac and Windows platforms
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail
  • A friendly disposition and a positive attitude
  • Exposure to Zendesk and SAP B1

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Direct customer contact online (Zendesk) and on the phone
  • Assessing and processing warranty claims
  • Co-ordinating repairs to external repair centres
  • Assisting with pre-sales product questions
  • Testing of audio equipment returned for repair or returned from review
  • Spare part shipping to customers & service centres

Audio Engineer / Electronic Repair Technician – Australis Music Group (Sydney)

Responsible for distributing massive musical instrument brands such as Gibson, Behringer, Ibanez and many more around Australia and New Zealand, Australis Music Group are on the hunt for a new service technician to join their Riverwood warehouse and assist in fixing up audio equipment.

Skills / Experience Required: 

  • Have at least a Certificate III in Electronics or currently be completing that qualification or at least 2 to 3 years’ experience in electronic repairs
  • Have at least 2 to 3 years’ experience in the Audio industry
  • Be able to demonstrate your ability to diagnose faults down to board level
  • Have some experience at component level fault diagnosis and repair or at least be able to identify and measure components with testing equipment
  • Be able to read schematics and identify circuits and components
  • Have good soldering capabilities and some experience with SMD repairs
  • Understand how pro-audio equipment works generally, for example being able to operate and test products such as analogue and digital mixing consoles, PA systems, audio interfaces and wireless systems
  • Be able to provide technical support to customers over the phone and by email
  • Have worked in a ERP, inventory or job costing system before, and have a good grasp of Office including Excel and Outlook
  • The ability to work under pressure in a team environment

Head of Operations – Chugg Music (Sydney)

Minted by Australian music industry legend Michael Chugg and young gun Andrew Stone in 2012, Chugg Music is an award-winning management company, publishing division and record label with a roster that includes Lime Cordiale, Sheppard, Mia Rodriguez and Casey Barnes. They’re currently hiring for a passionate and meticulously organised candidate to join on as Head of operations and help run the show into 2021 and beyond.

Skills / Experience Required: 

  • A minimum of 8 years experience in the music or entertainment industry, with at least 5 of those at a manager level or above – experience in related industries will also be considered
  • Exceptional organisational and team management experience
  • A demonstrated ability to deliver high quality organisational output under pressure
  • High level understanding of business practises as they relate to the music industry is desirable

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Working with business affairs and accounts team to oversee and implement strategy across internal business unit functions
  • Manage a team of 5-10 people including 3rd party contractors in conjunction with the company directors to ensure the smooth operational management of the business units
  • Oversee office infrastructure and commercial relationships as they pertain to the smooth running of the business unit
  • Work with the company directors to reinforce a healthy workplace culture within the organisation and with all external parties and artists
  • Working with business affairs and accounts team to ensure correct coding and management of budgets across the business unit
  • Working with artists and their representatives to ensure the timely payment of management commissions and other moneys due to the company
  • Operational management of artist roster under the direction of the company directors and in conjunction with other department heads
  • Working with department heads to oversee live touring logistics and general business activities for the artists across all live, recording, merchandising, publishing, endorsements and other commercial activities.

A&R / Touring Coordinator – Chugg Music (Sydney)

Another gig from Chuggy and the boys – this time, they’re looking to fill an A&R and Touring Coordinator role. This one will involve working alongside artists to manage recording and touring projects, as well as completing grants and handling other administrative duties as they arise.

Skills / Experience Required: 

  • At least 3 years’ experience in an artist management, touring, A&R or other relevant role music industry
  • Experience with the different steps in the recording, production, mastering, song writing process and release of recorded music
  • Exceptional organisational skills, especially as it pertains to cataloguing & registering songs and recordings
  • Exceptional knowledge of the Australian and International music scenes, as well as a keen eye for new and emerging talent
  • Exceptional ability to understand and work with budgets and in Microsoft Excel / Office in order to deliver accurate budgets across touring and A&R
  • Excellent planning, time management, attention to detail and the ability to schedule effectively
  • Ability to work well under pressure, to tight deadlines in a fast-paced team environment
  • Understanding of all aspects of recording and releasing music
  • A team player who also works well independently

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Working directly with artists and professional partners to deliver the recording, song writing, production, mastering, delivery and cataloguing of all artist projects
  • Managing the budget and necessary agreements for all recording projects in conjunction with Business Affairs and the Head of A&R
  • Working with the touring team to facilitate touring logistics and artist day-to-day bookings, general artist management activity and helping the wider team to ensure all aspects of the projects are delivered accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Researching and reporting on the success of new and ongoing releases, as well as researching new and upcoming acts both locally and internationally
  • Completing grant applications, helping to maintain artist diaries, and other administrative tasks as directed across the business unit

Musical Instrument Sales Assistant – Sky Music (Melbourne)

Sky Music are one of the biggest musical instrument retailers in Melbourne’s south-east, and they’re looking to expand their team with the hire of a new Sales Assistant. This role can be performed on either a full-time or part time basis, and will be based at their store in Clayton.

Skills / Experience Required: 

  • Product knowledge in either guitar or bass is required
  • Any product knowledge in Pro Audio, Keys/ Synths, Band/ Orchestral and Home Recording is a plus
  • Prior experience in a similar retail position or hospitality is also highly regarded
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Is motivated and has a self-driven attitude to achieve results
  • A cooperative and helpful team player
  • Ability to effectively manage time, multi task and meet deadlines
  • Able to develop and maintain customer relationships
  • Willingness to proactively learn and improve knowledge in products and the market
