Label Group Director – Inertia Music (Sydney)

A part of the [PIAS] group, Inertia Music are a pivotal force within Australia’s musical landscape, distributing a number of international record labels and also functioning as a label for local names like Mildlife, Body Type, Ali Barter and more. They’re on the lookout for a new leader to take the reins as Label Group Director, overseeing the team and helping them kick goals in 2021 and beyond.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Proven success leading and working within a team environment in the music industry
  • Highly skilled in consumer marketing and artist development for alternative music
  • Expert knowledge of the music consumption eco-system including digital, retail, D2C
  • Digital native with high appreciation of consumer marketing and artist development
  • High level management of multiple campaign activities and budgets

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage day to day the marketing and promotion teams including chairing meetings, setting priorities, managing workload, driving results and ensuring project milestones and goals are met within time and on budget
  • Lead the team creating dynamic and engaging release plans and goal orientated marketing and PR campaigns that deliver success
  • Maintain strong relationships and work closely with artist and label partners on release planning and artist development
  • Maximize the use of research, data and insights to create custom strategies
  • Work with the digital, retail and direct to consumer departments to ensure results driven, innovative commercial campaigns and partnerships
  • Communicate and provide regular detailed campaign reporting, insights and metrics to key internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive efficient communication and best practices, setting and attaining department goals and developing team skills and knowledge across the company
  • At all times promote the company’s artist friendly culture, fostering a climate that encourages creativity and maintains the highest standards of service to the organisation’s artists and labels

Senior A&R Manager (Publishing) – BMG (Sydney) 

Dubbed as the ‘fastest growing company in Australian music’, BMG is home to a varied roster of artists that includes the likes of Cut Copy, Crowded House, Alison Wonderland, Winston Surfshirt and beyond. They’re on the hunt for an experienced music industry professional to join the team as Senior A&R Manager to help sign new acts, develop talent and shape the future sound of Australian music.

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Identify and sign new talent
  • Work closely with the BMG roster to further explore domestic and international opportunities
  • Work closely with BMG Recordings team to identify opportunities where BMG songwriters and producers can benefit from BMG’s global recorded mission and vice versa
  • Co-ordinate domestic and international songwriting sessions and international writing trips
  • Pitching songs, beats and toplines domestically and internationally
  • Work closely with BMG’s international A&R teams across records and publishing

Workshop Facilitator – The Push (Melbourne) 

The legends over at The Push – Victoria’s own youth music body – are currently on the lookout for a number of casual candidates to run workshops for young people around the state. Currently, the team are seeking music industry professionals with experience in the following fields: Advocacy, Music Business and Careers, Promote Your Project, Music Making and Event Management.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Ability to deliver engaging, practical workshops through a mix of presentation and facilitation both online and in person, targeted towards young people and adults
  • Demonstrated ability to work fluidly to adjust training as required to achieve key learning outcomes for workshop attendees
  • An understanding of the needs and experiences of young people entering the contemporary music industry
  • A working knowledge of the Australian contemporary music industry with a minimum of 2 years work experience, which may include volunteering or interning.
  • Project management skills, assisting with the planning and delivery of training sessions
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to achieve high quality program outcomes

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Deliver interactive and engaging workshops online and in person for groups of young people and adults, based on the lesson plans provided
  • Tailor workshop delivery and content in response to audience questions or feedback to ensure key learning outcomes are achieved
  • Distribute feedback forms at the end of each training session to allow continuous improvement
  • Provide feedback to the Training and Development Manager regarding project planning and continuous improvement to ensure high quality outcomes
  • Manage the operational functions of the training workshops including gathering resources, materials and consumables, setting up, and packing up
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Push staff, project facilitators, contractors, volunteers and project partners
  • Work collaboratively across the organisation to foster pathways for training participants
  • Attend out of hours meetings and events, as required
  • Other duties, as directed by the Training and Development Manager

National Channel Manager, Consumer Division – CMI Music & Audio (Melbourne)

The big dogs behind brands like Korg, Ableton, Universal Audio, ESP, Blackstar and many more, CMI Music & Audio are hiring a new National Channel Manager to assume responsibility of their consumer division and drive sales and engagement within the domestic market.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Minimum 3 years business development/sales experience within the CE and or Mass merchant channel.
  • Experience within the Electronic or Music wholesale industry is preferred.
  • Experience in dealing with buyers at head office level.
  • Strong knowledge of the online market.

Station Manager – 4ZZZ (Brisbane) 

As Queensland’s longest running FM radio station, Brisbane’s community radio legends 4ZZZ have treated the ears of Northerners with some of the best sounds from the local underground since 1975. The station is currently on the hunt for a new manager to join on and direct the everyday operations to continue their impact across the airwaves – could it be you?

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with volunteer workers and community groups who participate in programming and ensure the station community is informed about relevant issues, policy, change and practice.
  • Represent 4ZZZ at conferences, consultative groups and industry forums, as well as undertaking advocacy at government and regulatory level.
