The singer-songwriter brings her highly anticipated new album Nothing's About to Happen to Me to Vivid LIVE alongside the release of second single 'I'll Change for You'.
Mitski is returning to Australia with something special—four exclusive nights at the Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid LIVE, running from 29 May through 1 June.
The announcement arrives alongside ‘I’ll Change for You’, the second single from her forthcoming album Nothing’s About to Happen to Me, out 27 February via Dead Oceans. Following the indie-rock intensity of lead single ‘Where’s My Phone?’, this new track shifts gears into nostalgic, mid-tempo territory. Mitski’s vocal range soars over rich instrumentation including strings, drums, percussion, pianos, guitar, flute and vibraphone. With raw desperation, she sings: “‘Cause I’ll do anything // For you to love me again // If you don’t like me now // I will change for you.”

Nothing’s About to Happen to Me centres around a reclusive woman in an unkempt house—a deviant outside her home, free within it. Directed by Lexie Alley and edited by Rena Johnson, the ‘I’ll Change for You’ video builds on this Tansy House universe. Printed frame by frame onto film with hand-drawn marks and subtle distortions, the footage feels fragile and dilapidated, like something discovered buried under a pile of books.
Produced and engineered by Patrick Hyland, mastered by Bob Weston, and written by Mitski, it continues the musical direction established with 2023’s The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, featuring live instrumentation by The Land touring band and ensemble arrangements. Orchestra sections were recorded at Sunset Sound and TTG Studios, arranged and conducted by Drew Erickson, and engineered by Michael Harris.

Known for live shows described as “a mesmerising study in movement” (Variety), “highly stylised, brilliantly realised, super cool” (Philadelphia Inquirer) and “unusual, enigmatic and utterly compelling” (The Guardian), Mitski’s Sydney residency promises to be something extraordinary.
Artist pre-sale begins Wednesday 11 February at 10am local time, with general public tickets available Friday 13 February at 10am.
