Ahead of NAB 2026, Lectrosonics has announced meaningful performance updates to its DSSM sub-miniature transmitter and DSR and DSR4 digital slot receivers.

Lectrosonics has updated several of its D-Squared digital wireless products, and the changes are already in new units that are shipping now.

The DSSM waterproof sub-miniature transmitter picks up the most notable individual improvement. Already a favourite in both film sound and theatre for its compact form, IP57 waterproofing and strong audio performance, the updated unit now delivers over 10% more battery life – pushing the maximum runtime to over 7 hours. For long shooting days or extended theatre runs where changing a transmitter mid-show isn’t an option, it’s a welcome update.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

On the receiver side, the DSR 2-channel and DSR4 4-channel digital slot receivers have both received revised internal circuitry alongside modifications to their cases, resulting in improved sensitivity and self-noise performance. Both units also retain the flexibility to operate across multiple modes, meaning those running Digital Hybrid transmitters alongside a fully digital setup can still make it work.

Karl Winkler, EVP of Product Design & Distribution at Lectrosonics, says, “Lectrosonics products are acclaimed throughout the world for their exceptional performance and durability. As a company, we are committed to innovation and continually working to enhance and update our existing product lines alongside the development of new products. These new versions offer tangible improvements, while maintaining the compatibility, form factors and usability that our customers depend upon.”

All updated products are shipping now, so any new systems purchased today will already include the revisions. There’s no formal upgrade programme for existing owners, though Lectrosonics’ service team is available to discuss options.

More details on the new products being announced at NAB are expected to follow in the coming weeks. Visit Lectrosonics here.
