Laney has launched the PRISM-MINI, a Bluetooth-enabled portable practice amp that combines 17 amp models, 32 effects and artist-inspired presets into one highly portable package for guitarists who want great tone anywhere.

The latest addition to Laney’s MINI range of portable amplifiers, the PRISM-MINI comes loaded with 100 presets, including 50 factory and 50 user slots, alongside 17 amp models and 32 effects covering drive, EQ, modulation, delay and reverb. Players can run up to six effects simultaneously alongside the amp and cabinet models, which gives plenty of room to build a tone worth playing through. The amp models include the Laney Lionheart, Ironheart, Cub and Digbeth bass amps, so bass players aren’t left out either.

The factory presets lean into Laney’s artist roster, with tones inspired by Tony Iommi, Billy Corgan, Devin Townsend, Lari Basilio, Tom Quayle and Jack Gardiner available straight out of the box. User presets can be edited and exported through the free Tone Wizard app for iOS and Android, which also handles wireless amp and effects editing, preset management, music streaming and access to an app-based drum machine with a range of different patterns to jam along to. For those who prefer to work directly on the unit, a 1.77-inch full-colour LCD screen provides direct access to presets and settings without needing to open the app.

On the hardware side, the PRISM-MINI runs on a built-in rechargeable lithium battery with up to 14 hours of playtime, enough for a long rehearsal or a full day of writing. Two custom-designed 1.5-inch speakers deliver 2 x 3 watts of stereo output, giving the amp a noticeably wider soundstage than most practice options in this size range. Bluetooth connectivity lets you stream music directly from your phone so you can practice with backing tracks, and a headphone output means you can play quietly when you need. A built-in tuner rounds out the feature set.

Compact enough for a backpack and capable enough for backstage, the Laney PRISM-MINI is available now through authorised Laney dealers.
