The 2019 Nominees for the J Awards have been announced

Leading the nominations for the J Award Album of the Year include Sampa The Great, Matt Corby, Stella Donnelly and Holy Holy – it’ll be a tough pick between those four – with Thelma Plum, Hilltop Hoods, Hayden James, Northlane, G Flip and Hatchie also in the running for the big prize.

As per usual, there’s also a bunch of nominees for Double J, Triple J Unearthed and Rage’s categorical honours, including the omnipresent Tones And I, Julia Jacklin, The Teskey Brothers, Nick Cave, The Chats and Briggs. This year also sees the introduction of the ‘You Done Good’ award to commemorate those behind-the-scenes figures who add so much to Australia’s music industry, with this year’s nominees including songwriter Sarah Aarons, Dylan Alcott and Boy & Bear ass-ociate Harry the Poo Roadie.

Check out the Awards shortlist in its entirety below. These ones get announced on air via Veronica and Lewis at 4pm Thursday November 21 – stay tuned to hear more!
