Eminem breaks MCG live music attendance record

Joined by the likes of local favourites Hilltop Hoods and labelmates Boogie and Royce Da 5’9″, the hip-hop heavyweight set a new benchmark for live music at the MCG, attracting approximately 80,708 punters to his Melbourne show last night.

The previous record for live music attendance at the ‘G was last set back in 2009 with the Sound Relief benefit, which attracted 80,518 fans to raise funds for the families of those affected by the Black Saturday bushfires that year.

With the Detroit MC performing a career spanning setlist of over 30 songs, it’s fair to say that this one is going to go down in history for Australian hip-hop fans. Love him or hate him, you can’t deny that 80,708 fans is pretty impressive – props to you, Slim.
