15yo Aussie music fan sets up signed guitar raffle for Support Act

The signed Fender Jimi Hendrix Signature Stratocaster is up for raffle via Help A Mate, a service affiliated with Support Act that allows individuals to raise funds to support struggling musicians or industry professionals in Australia.

The guitar itself is valued at around $4,000 and has been signed by 24 Aussie artists from 14 different bands, including Bernard Fanning and John Collins of Powderfinger, The Chats’ Eamon Sandwith, Pat Devern of Grinspoon, Luke Henry and Michael Richards of Violent Soho and more.

Other prizes up for grabs include signed merch packs from the likes of Karnivool, Courtney Barnett, The Amity Affliction, Hockey Dad, Press Club, Tones & I and Baker Boy.

Lucas, who is possibly the sickest 15 year old in Queensland right now, discussed his reasoning for getting involved in the initiative in a statement accompanying the raffle, saying that “The amazing generosity of the people in the music industry has helped me put this amazing prize together to raise much needed funds for this life saving charity.”

“I am a 15 year old student who hopes to one day have a career in the music industry. When the industry was shut down due to COVID19 I knew I had to do something.”

“When we listen to music we love and follow bands, they become like our mates. Help a Mate! Buy a ticket for this incredible prize. Thank you, Lucas.”

Employers, take note – Lucas is your dude.
