GIK Acoustics’ new deep bass trap panels are designed for the frequencies that have always been hardest to control

Bass is the acoustic problem that most treatment products quietly sidestep.

The majority of panels on the market simply aren’t thick enough to do anything meaningful below 100Hz, which leaves studios, listening rooms and home cinemas dealing with standing waves, low-end buildup and that familiar muddiness that no amount of EQ can fully fix. GIK Acoustics has taken direct aim at that problem with three new deep bass trap panels, all being formally introduced at AXPONA 2026.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

The new range consists of the Classic Bass Trap Panel “60Hz”, the Amplitude Bass Trap Panel “60Hz” and the FlexRange Bass Trap Panel “50Hz” – and as the names suggest, these panels go significantly deeper than what’s typically available off the shelf. GIK is claiming this is a first for any major acoustic treatment brand offering panels at this depth as standard products.

The Classic Bass Trap Panel “60Hz” is built around a 20cm (8″) mineral wool core, offering broadband absorption down to around 60Hz and up to 25% greater low-frequency performance than GIK’s 15cm models. The Amplitude Bass Trap Panel “60Hz” brings the same depth to GIK’s design-led hybrid range, combining absorption, scattering and diffusion in a panel that also reaches down to around 60Hz with the same 25% improvement over the 15cm version.

The FlexRange Bass Trap Panel “50Hz” is the deepest of the three, built on GIK’s patented two-frame FlexRange system with a built-in air gap. Configurable in Full Range, Range Limiter or Scatter Plate mode, it absorbs down to around 50Hz and delivers up to 30% better low-frequency absorption than GIK’s 17cm models.

All three have been independently tested at the University of Salford to BS EN ISO 354:2003 standards, which is worth noting for anyone who takes specification claims seriously. Over 20 Camira Cara fabric options are available across the range, along with multiple size options for customisation.

For producers, engineers and serious listeners who have been struggling with the low end in their room, this range is worth checking out. More information is available at gikacoustics.com.
