The Elvis SJ-200 and Elvis Dove, both coming in an ebony finish, were handcrafted in the Gibson Acoustic Custom Shop.

The Elvis Dove is based on a 1969 custom Gibson Dove given to ‘The Hillbilly Cat’ by his father, Vernon Presley. This guitar featured over several legendary moments in Presley’s career, including his 1973 televised Aloha from Hawaii Concert. He also famously gave the guitar away to an audience member while performing in North Carolina.

In terms of its construction, the Elvis Dove is a blend of a Sitka spruce top, maple wood back and sides, as well as a mahogany neck fronted with an Indian rosewood fretboard.

The guitar is also equipped for the stage, with sound hole-mounted volume, tone control and modern LR Baggs VTC electronics with an under-saddle piezo pickup that allows for a more articulate sound.

The Elvis SJ-200 take its inspiration from a guitar gifted to Presley at an RCA Studio B recording in Nashville, which he used during some of his most famous live performances and famously favoured throughout his career.

With a maple back, sides, neck and Sitka spruce top, the Elvis SJ-200’s ebony finish gives the acoustic guitar a classic feel. This is accentuated by a mother of pearl graduated crown, a moustache bridge, and parallelogram inlays.

Like the Elvis Dove, the Elvis SJ-200 also has an Indian rosewood fretboard and traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing. A Kenpo Karate decal also features within the included hardwood cases of both acoustic guitars, for a bit of Elvis flare.
