Gibson Brands appoint Cesar Gueikian as permanent CEO

Cesar Gibson

Cesar Gueikian, first and foremost a guitar-obsessed collector, has been named as permanent President and CEO of Gibson Brands.

Having served as interim CEO after James Curleigh stepped down earlier in the year, Cesar Gueikian has been in the role for a few months now. Gibson Brands includes Gibson, Epiphone, Mesa Boogie and Kramer to name a few.

Nat Zilkha, Chairman of Gibson Brands, speaks to Gueikian’s passion for Gibson, saying:

“He has established a remarkable track record at Gibson, shaping our product, our marketing, our artist relationships, and many of our important growth initiatives. In addition, Cesar has an extraordinary personal passion for music, and for Gibson guitars in particular. He is an accomplished leader, a musician, and a self-professed guitar nerd. We are confident that Cesar is the ideal person to serve as Gibson’s next CEO and to build on the great momentum we have as a company.”

Cesar Gueikian joined Gibson in 2018 as Chief Merchant Officer, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in business, coupled with a passion for music, songwriting and guitar collecting. A brand like Gibson, having been founded in 1902, has built a massive following, avid collectors knowing the dates, factories and ranges of guitars and basses (and mandolins while we’re at it!) so it makes sense for someone like Cesar Gueikian to lead it.

The change is effective immediately, and Gueikian’s work in Gibson Media, launching Gibson TV are sure to be an indicator of things to come for the entire range of products that fall under Gibson Brands.
