Felix Martin's FM Guitars has launched the Masterline series — its most premium and meticulously crafted range yet, featuring exotic tonewoods, neck-through construction, and a lineup that runs from 6-string guitars all the way up to 18-string instruments.

The FM Guitars Masterline series was built by a touring musician who spent nearly twenty years figuring out exactly what he needed and made it himself.

Venezuelan-born guitarist Felix Martin has spent his career developing a playing approach built around the tapping technique, using two fretboards to unlock chord shapes, double melodies, and percussive ideas that aren’t possible on a conventional guitar. The Masterline is the most refined expression of that vision, sitting proudly at the top of the FM Guitars range.

The wood selection is exceptional. Buckeye, Wenge, Tzalam, Swamp Ash, Black Limba, Cocobolo, Birdseye Maple, Purpleheart, Ziricote, Walnut Burl, and Flamed Maple are all among the options, chosen as much for their unique and undeniably cool visual character as tonal contribution. Multi-piece necks with several layers give each instrument a distinctive look, with wood selection reflecting a level of craftsmanship that serious players will immediately appreciate.

Neck-through construction runs across the entire Masterline range, which has a direct impact on playability. Upper fret access is effortless, the instruments are notably light and well-balanced for their size, and sustain benefits from the continuous wood running the full length of the body.

The full Masterline lineup covers 6- to 9-string guitars and extends to the larger 12- to 18-string FM Style instruments — all available with the same level of tonewood selection, multi-piece neck construction, and meticulous finishing. Whatever you’re after, the Masterline has the conventional end covered and then some.

For players exploring extended range instruments, or anyone curious about where boutique guitar building is heading, the Masterline series is well worth your attention.
